Councils need to be ‘braver’ and ‘bolder’ in their conversations with private service providers, according to Portsmouth City Council’s chief executive.
Natalie Brahma-Pearl told delegates at The MJ’s Future Forum in Hertfordshire that having pushed the parameters of contracts and implemented genuine innovation during Covid councils were ‘slowly going back’ to the status quo from before the pandemic.
