It is still early days for AI in local government, despite the huge opportunities it offers HR and finance teams. Reliability, transparency, fairness and privacy reservations remain, understandably. And all link back to one central issue: trust.
It is therefore crucial that decision-makers explore the principles, ethics and practices that govern would-be AI providers, because public sector HR and finance data is often extremely sensitive.
