Councils face a double whammy of soaring costs and declining police support as they try to enforce a ban on XL Bully dogs.
The Local Government Association has written to environment secretary Steve Barclay, warning that police chiefs’ advice to withdraw the services of dog legislation officers who determine breeds from councils was ‘deeply concerning’.
