What county treasurers could learn from Harry Styles

In one of the most eye-catching tweets of the year so far, Twitter chief Bruce Daisley asked: ‘What can Ed Miliband learn from Harry Styles?

For the uninitiated among us, Harry fronts the band One Direction, who have used digital technology and social media to make emotional connections with their 22 million followers, promote tours and sell records. Mr Daisley argues this provides lessons for politicians seeking support from the electorate to win votes in #GE2015.

So, if Harry was a county treasurer, what could he teach us about using social media to tackle the medium-term financial challenges on our plate: the creation of more and better jobs that grow tax revenues and improve life outcomes, and the promotion of personal responsibility to reduce pressure on a fractured health and social care system?
