A former housing secretary has said the Conservatives’ lack of action on planning to speed up housebuilding may cost the party in the General Election.
Sir Simon Clarke - a Cabinet minister under the short-lived Liz Truss administration - highlighted difficulties getting onto the housing ladder during a Parliamentary debate on planning last week.
