Thurrock boosted by £500m after sale

Thurrock Council has received £510m in payments following the sale of Toucan Energy Holdings – the firm that triggered a section 114 notice when it collapsed.

The Essex-based unitary unloaded Toucan’s 53 solar farms to Schoders Greencoat for around £700m, but, after meeting the company liabilities, the sale will only reduce Thurrock’s debt position by just over £500m.
