Adult social care value call

Adult social care needs more democratic clout if it is to overcome the financial pressures it faces, a Whitehall director has admitted. 

Director general for social care and local government at the Department of Health, Clara Swinson, admitted it was ‘incredibly tough’ for the public sector in the face of austerity.
