Auditor: DCLG must take charge of devolution agenda

The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) needs to take charge of the devolution agenda and row back against Treasury domination, a top auditor has said.

Key local government figures, including Manchester City Council leader Sir Richard Leese, have advised others seeking more powers from Whitehall to ignore the DCLG and praised the Treasury for creating an impetus around devolution.
