Call for devolution rivalry to end

Newcastle City Council’s chief executive has admitted there had been competition over devolution agreements but has now called on regions to work together to get the best from the process.

Speaking in Leeds at The MJ’s Future Forum North, Pat Ritchie said she had learned a lot from devolution to Greater Manchester deal and suggested authorities looked to one another for new ideas.
