Chief's pledge to improve failing children's services

Tameside MBC’s chief executive has insisted the council has embarked on an improvement journey after a watchdog blasted the authority’s ‘inadequate’ children’s services. 

The Ofsted report highlighted that the council had failed to ensure sufficient capacity to meet increasing demand, warning that ‘serious and widespread failures’ were putting vulnerable children at risk.
