Council fights to keep waste contract details confidential

Gloucestershire CC has warned a ruling forcing it to publish details of a £500m incinerator contract could have ‘serious implications’ for other councils.

The Information Commissioner’s Office ordered the council to reveal previously withheld information about the contract between the local authority and Urbaser Balfour Beatty (UBB) for plans to build a new waste treatment facility at Javelin Park.
