Council takes back control of children’s services

Rotherham MBC has won back democratic control of all functions apart from children’s social care, the Government has confirmed.

Communities secretary Sajid Javid last week confirmed the return of powers for five of the last six services that sit with government-appointed commissioners – community safety, waste management, performance management, asset management and human resources.
