Counties and districts clash over DFG spend

Furious rows have been erupting around the country with counties and districts clashing over which authority is better placed to spend the disabled facilities grant (DFG).

According to national Better Care Fund (BCF) guidance on how the DFG should be spent, which has been made clearer this financial year, counties had to pass the grant in full to districts by the end of June 2017 unless a local deal could be struck.
