Communities secretary Greg Clark has upped the funding for rural areas after Conservative MPs threatened to rebel over the local government finance settlement.
Announcing the final settlement, which will go before Parliament on Wednesday, Mr Clark said there would be ‘transitional funding’ to cushion the blow of sharp grant reductions.
