Getting into a muddle over the nation’s education

The Government’s fixation over academy schools is looking increasingly untenable in the face of evidence that they are just not performing as well as local authority schools.

This week the Local Government Association pushed out Ofsted figures which showed 86% of local authority run schools are rated good or outstanding, compared with 82% of academies and 79% of free schools.
