Kent CC has decided to put plans to transfer its libraries, registration and archives service to a charitable trust on hold until there is a change in the law.
A report, which went before the council’s cabinet on 20 March, recommended moving ahead with plans to transfer the combined service to a trust.
But the report notes the plans will have to wait until central government changes the law to allow the transfer of the registration services.
