Councils will have to improve how they consult with local people when making cuts and changes to services after a Supreme Court decision today, lawyers believe.
The court unanimously agreed that Haringey LBC’s public consultation was unlawful because it misleadingly implied it had no alternative but to pass on cuts to its poorest residents.
