Minister: Fiscal devolution 'not a priority'

The Government will prioritise the implementation and delivery of the Greater Manchester plan before considering going further with fiscal devolution, a Treasury minister has said.

Priti Patel was responding to a question in the House of Commons yesterday from Manchester Central MP Lucy Powell, who urged the Government to ‘consider going further in fiscal devolution and secondary legislation devolution so that we can truly live up to our aims’.
