Local authority staff working on school improvement will have to leave councils if they wish to be involved with multi-academy trusts (MAT), education secretary Nicky Morgan has announced.
Gateshead MP and education committee member Ian Mearns quizzed Ms Morgan on whether local authorities could have any involvement with MATs.
