‘Peer reviews are not perfect,’ says Sparks

The chair of the Local Government Association (LGA) has admitted weaknesses with the sector-led improvement approach despite his organisation having hailed it as a ‘success story’.

Quizzed about the effectiveness of the LGA’s peer challenge process at the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives (SOLACE) summit in Liverpool, David Sparks conceded he did not have an ‘absolute answer’.
