Pickup sets sights on fair funding

The Local Government Association’s (LGA) new deputy chief executive, Sarah Pickup, has called for a ‘fair funding deal’ for local government – in exchange for supporting and developing communities.

Ms Pickup, who is currently deputy chief executive at Hertfordshire, was appointed to the new role last week.

In addition to leading the finance policy, she will also act as chief operating officer for the association.
