Reaching a turning point

The criminal justice and prison system isn’t something we encounter every day. While a major incident or court case which has garnered some public following may work its way onto the news, it otherwise operates on the periphery, enjoying little of the importance we typically associate and attach to schools, hospitals and other things which affect our daily routine.

Unlike skills, social care and transport, which in various forms have all been included in the Government’s devolution packages, powers over justice have not been as forthcoming.
