Regardless of leadership style, being human is essential

With a dreadful campaign run by Theresa May for the General Election and criticism of Kensington & Chelsea RLBC following the terrible tragedy at Grenfell Tower, leadership style in the public sector has been in the spotlight.

Both the prime minister and politicians and senior management at Kensington & Chelsea were rightly chastised for their lack of empathy, humility and the common touch at a time when it was most needed. But is this only needed in a crisis?
