Shake-up is ‘inevitable’ despite setbacks

Local government reorganisation remains an inevitability despite a major blow to flagship plans by Oxfordshire districts to create four cross-county unitaries, key figures have insisted.

Further plans have also been mooted in Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire as the shift towards local government reorganisation gathers pace across the country.
