Shared services ‘double’ since 2010

Shared services in local government have doubled since the 2010 Spending Review to nearly £100m, according to the arvato UK Quarterly Outsourcing Index.

Across the public sector, the value of shared services has reached £1.3bn since 2010, the firm said, with central government departments commissioning £1.2bn – compared with £58m of shared services outsourced to the private sector before the coalition Government came to power.
