The City Growth Commission has called for a permanent seat at Cabinet for local representatives as part of its final report – a move that would bring true local representation to central government.
Much as I support the idea – and the commission’s report overall – The MJ got an honourable mention in transformation guru Sir Derek Myers’ speech to SOLACE last week for portraying devolution as far more of a fait accompli than the rest of the world thinks it is.
