The three main local government trade unions have voted to accept an improved pay offer from council bosses, ending protracted wage negotiations.
Some 1.5 million members represented by the GMB trade union, UNISON and Unite, have voted in favour of a two-year deal the unions claim is worth an extra 2.35% on average.
A mass walkout was held on 10 July and further industrial action was averted on 14 October after the unions had previously rejected an initial offer from the Local Government Association of a 1% wage increase.
