£20m for sector-led kids’ services

The Department for Education (DfE) has signalled a major policy shift with a £20m investment for a new programme of sector-led improvement for children’s services.

Children’s minister Robert Goodwill said the Government would invest ‘up to £20m’ in improvement support with some of the money going to ‘expand the capacity of the strongest local authorities’ so they can help struggling councils.
