£4.7bn social care shortfall revealed

Councils face a £4.7bn social care shortfall, according to the latest analysis of sustainability and transformation plans (STPs).

Analysis by the British Medical Association (BMA) also found that hospitals in STPs with big social care deficits include those that most struggle to find social care for patients.
