A healthier outlook for public health

Looking back at the two years since the Association of Directors of Public Health for London (ADPH London) was launched and public health transferred to local government, there is much to be proud of and much we can learn.

ADPH London represents the directors of public health in all 32 boroughs and the City of London. Our ethos is to improve and protect the health and wellbeing of local people, through sharing best practice, collaborating on cross-borough issues and developing professional peer networks.

Those early days were not without their challenges. Top was the high level of director vacancies across London in the wake of the transition from the NHS. Public health was also moving into local government at a time of severe and on-going financial pressures.
