A winning performance in the city of spires

Everyone knows Oxford for its dreaming spires. Fewer realise that for years its local authority was under-performing its world-famous city. 

Six years ago its chief executive and leader decided this needed to change and with the support of managers and members embarked on a transformation journey that this year culminated in the city council winning the Best Achieving Council category in The MJ Awards.
