Spending on adult social care in 2017/18 is expected to be £1.2bn higher than the year before, statistics compiled by the Government have revealed.
The 8.6% increase means that total revenue expenditure by all local authorities in England for 2017/18 – excluding both education and Greater London Authority figures – is expected to be 1% higher than the £54.8bn budgeted in 2016/17.
