Authorities’ spending on outsourced IT is up 75%

Local authority spending on outsourced IT services soared by 75% last year, new figures have suggested.

Total spending on outsourced technology reached £463m and also contributed to an 8% year-on-year rise in the overall combined local government IT and business process outsourcing (BPO) market, according to a study by BPO specialists Arvato and analysts Nelson Hall.
