Authority’s plan to save UK steel sector

Newcastle City Council has produced a four-point plan on how to save the UK steel industry.

With the Government under continued pressure to solve the crisis left by Tata Steel’s decision to sell its UK business, Newcastle City Council this week urged ministers to act to save the industry ‘in the same way as previous governments protected the banking industry’.
