A bill that would subject private companies that have contracts with public authorities to the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act has been presented to Parliament.
Labour’s shadow policing minister, Louise Haigh, said the collapse of Carillion last month and the Grenfell Tower fire last year demonstrated the need to extend FOI laws to private sector partners delivering public services.
