Birmingham City Council assistant chief executive Piali Das Gupta is to leave the authority to join senior officer body Solace as head of policy, The MJ has learned.
Ms Das Gupta joined the crisis-hit council on a two-year fixed-term contract late in 2015 from her previous role as a senior adviser at the Local Government Association, and has worked for the Canadian Government.
