Birmingham may drop criminal record checks

The council at the centre of the Trojan Horse scandal is expected to ditch three-year criminal record checks, sparking fresh safeguarding fears.

Birmingham City Council told The MJ that, from July, it would only undertake Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks on new employees.
