Bold new mayors will have the power to make a stand

Donald Trump is the US president that keeps on giving when it comes to controversy. However, amid all the noise and bluster, there is an interesting story emerging about the role of cities and their elected mayors.

Hardly any city over 100,000 population voted for Mr Trump and these communities have been most vocal in their opposition. The recent decision to bar citizens and refugees from a number of predominately Muslim countries provoked a wave of protest.
