Bournemouth scraps chief executive role

Bournemouth Council has scrapped the post of chief executive as it seeks to make efficiencies ahead of possible local government reorganisation.

Tony Williams has accepted a £394,000 redundancy package and his responsibilities as head of paid service have been transferred to executive director for adult and children’s services, Jane Portman.
