Brexit exposes need for more investment in waste infrastructure

The need for investment in waste infrastructure has been thrown into sharp focus by the prospect of a no-deal Brexit.

Three million tonnes of domestic waste is sent to EU countries from the UK every year for recycling or use as fuel because there are not enough facilities within the country.
