Burnham in plea for further education devolution

The mayor of Greater Manchester has made a plea for skills training to be devolved after giving a scathing assessment of Government education policy.

Addressing a panel of MPs, Andy Burnham described the UK as ‘the most over-centralised Government in the world’ and argued for post-16 education to be more locally business-driven.
