Call for IR35 delay

Senior local government personnel have urged Whitehall to delay the introduction of strict new anti-tax avoidance rules for public sector contractors.

The Local Government Association (LGA), Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) and Society of Local Authority Chief Executives (SOLACE) jointly issued a statement calling on HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) to delay the IR35 rules, which will govern future off-payroll working arrangements.
