Care complaints becoming 'ever more serious'

The Local Government Ombudsman (LGO) is having to carry out a higher proportion of detailed investigations, suggesting complaints about adult care are becoming ‘ever more serious’.

LGO found fault in 66% of adult social care cases it investigated – up 4% on the previous year.

Since 2010 the uphold rate has increased from 43% to 66%.
