Care home lockdowns on rise

A growing number of councils have imposed lockdowns on care homes in response to rising numbers of coronavirus cases.

Gateshead MBC and Newcastle and Sunderland city councils are the latest to order care homes to close to ‘non-essential visits,’ effectively banning family members for all but end-of-life visits.
