Care provider warns of sector collapse unless action is taken

Mears Care is one of the largest providers of domiciliary care in the UK and is one of the few which remain in stable financial health. Mears have set out five points which need an answer now to save the adult social care sector.

  1. Only around 10% of the already insufficient social care budget reaches front line homecare. This can’t be right when the main health and social care strategy is to look after people in their own homes. Double front line homecare spending now. It will pay for itself immediately, in keeping people out of hospital and residential settings.
