Chief slams ‘unrealistic world’ of Ofsted probes

A top chief executive has broken cover to warn that children’s services are ‘struggling to keep their heads above water’.

The Society of Local Authority Chief Executive’s policy spokesman on children and families, Phil Norrey, said departments around the country were dealing with more complex and expensive interventions, swelling demand and pressure on provision.
