Chiefs defend councils' role in SEND provision

Chief executives have defended councils’ roles in special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) provision.

Giving evidence to MPs on the Education Committee this week, the local authority figures  spoke of the strain on funds, with chief executive of Rochdale MBC, Steve Rumbelow, describing it as ‘a financial ticking time bomb’.
