Contractor prepares to cut losses from Derby waste agreement

The future of a troubled energy-from-waste project in Derby hangs in the balance as a partner in the deal prepares to write-off its investment.

Renewi, which is contracted to manage the facility on completion, announced in its annual report it has ‘provided for the complete termination of the PPP [public private partnership] contract’ as it is yet to enter full service.
