Controversial Prevent strategy to be reviewed

An independent review of the Prevent anti-radicalisation programme will take place, ministers have announced.

The Government has agreed to appoint an independent reviewer within six months to look at the scheme, which is designed to identify people at risk of becoming extremists and support their deradicalisation.
