Cornwall to demand more rate relief powers

More powers and flexibilities around rate reliefs and public health will be demanded by Cornwall Council as it heads into negotiations for a 2018/19 pilot.

Cornwall’s service director for resources, Andy Brown, told The MJ the Department of Health (DoH) had been ‘unwilling’ to include public health in the authority’s 2017/18 pilot but the council would put it back on the table for the ‘next phase’ of the test run in 2018/19.
